When I host anything - a party, afternoon tea, dinner - I tend to get a little over excited about the decoration and styling. Ok, majorly over excited. Case in point - I decided to host a dinner for my birthday late last year. This quickly turned into a birthday fiesta which involved me cooking like a crazy lady for 15 people, moving furniture out of my house and a few rushed trips around town for props (of course).
It also involved a pretty large dose of DIY. I decided to make a table cloth, create serving boards with painted patterns, spray paint vases and make chandeliers with ribbon.
While the rest of the party has long been packed away and our furniture has settled back into it's regular set up, one piece of the fiesta has stayed - the ribbon chandelier.
I love them - who knew 300 metres of ribbon, a couple of metal hoops & some builders string could combine to make my new favourite decoration? Well, it was pretty likely - I do love ribbon.
